Aardcom was formed in early 1993 providing photographic and print publishing services for several Canadian sports associations. We expanded our services into web design and maintenance programs for associations and several small businesses. We became involved in the trade show industry as registration services consultants and as a contract services supplier to the event industry in Canada and later expanded our service offerings throughout North America. That experience has provided us with insights into a wide variety of businesses that few can match.
Over the years we watched the role of the internet evolve from a passive information resource into an interactive media platform and host to viable ecommerce business platforms with worldwide reach. While the technology changed over the years, we found many hosting providers either failed to keep up or were slow to adapt to the needs of progressive web developers and their clients.
Many developers were limited both by their own preferences and the hosting platform they chose to run on. The result was often a bias towards one platform over another, despite the flaws or limitations of the software being utilized.
We wanted a solution that enabled us to support a wider range of technologies and allow us to choose the best platform for the job at hand. The solution came just a few years ago, when we were able to make use of the hybrid server technology we utilize today. Our clients now benefit from greater choice, adaptability and reliability.
